This spring, in honor of my 26th marathon, I will be running for a charity. The Allyson Whitney is a non-profit organization that empowers and fights for the interests of young adults with rare cancers. Their vision is to improve the quality of life for patients by directly lending a helping hand.
I chose this particular organization because cancer SUCKS. It has ravaged my life, and I would guess that you know someone, or are that person, who has been impacted by this awful disease.
For my next endurance endeavor, I chose to honor and remember the following loved ones; all taken too soon by cancer.
Betty Pierce: Grandmom
Bette Pierce: Granddad
Toby Pierce: Stepmother
Sandra Johnson: Grandmother
Rachel Thomas: College friend
Del Haney: Stepfather
And all the other people in my life who have taken on the disease on and survived.
I appreciate you taking the time to read my story and considering donating to this amazing organization. Thank you.
