Imagine attending sixth grade on your phone. Or taking AP Chem on an obsolete desktop. Or helping your two kids access school with one laptop and slow internet.
That’s real life for families living in affordable BRIDGE Housing in CA, OR and WA. For months they have navigated remote school with inadequate devices, limited internet, and little tech support.
Despite trying, few school districts can keep pace with the need for digital tools.
So, BRIDGE is fundraising to give new Chromebooks, reliable internet access, and IT support to families in BRIDGE communities. Please help us reach our Phase One goal of $50,000 – enough to provide devices and a year of online access and support to 100 students.
Every gift helps.
In good times, BRIDGE parents make barely enough to get by. Now many have been laid off from jobs in retail, housekeeping and other service fields. They have big dreams for their kids – college and more.
Most of our families are also people of color, for whom the digital divide is real. Especially when school is remote, access to digital tools is a matter or racial justice.
Please join us now to ensure that every child in BRIDGE Housing has the opportunity to achieve their full potential in school.
