If you or someone you love has attended or worked for our program, you'll know that we are much more than a childcare service. Rather, Lincoln Extended Day is an immeasurably beneficial enrichment program that helps young people grow into strong leaders, communicators, and community members.
In each division of our program, from Kindergarten to 5th grade, Extended Day students learn developmentally appropriate skills in empathy, accountability, compassion, conflict resolution, and dialoguing across difference. These incredibly important concepts—which benefit our children well beyond their tenure in elementary school—are an increasingly important supplement to the public school day.
Our Extended Day staff and administration go above and beyond daily, developing curricula that help our children thrive, both socially and emotionally. And now, we need your help.
Tuition is Lincoln Extended Day's sole source of income. It covers our operating costs, staff payroll, insurance and location expenses. Without it, we relied heavily on our excess reserves to keep staff on payroll and working on programming from home through March and April. However, as school closures extended across the state of Massachussetts, it became clear that the future financial viability of Extended Day was increasingly at risk. Our reserves, traditionally used to support families who move through the waitlist but cannot afford full tuition, have been significantly depleted, and will continue to dwindle over the summer.
Please help us by making a donation in any amount. Your generous gift will help replenish the funds we used to support our beloved staff in a time of great uncertainty, and ensure that we can continue proudly offering scholarships to new families coming off of the waitlist. Small donations will help purchase fresh snacks and project supplies for our students once we reopen our doors. Larger donations will contribute to future staff salaries, so we can welcome back our talented team just as soon as we are able to. Anything you are able to give is appreciated and received with immense gratitude.
Please share this message far and wide-- with grandparents, extended family and community members, local businesses and initiatives-- anyone you know who would support the incredible youth and community work that Lincoln Extended Day has been doing for over 43 years. Our future is in your hands.
