My name is Nahomie Cloutier. I was born in Haiti in a city called Cite Soleil, which means City of Sun. Growing up in Haiti was hard because my family was very poor as there were no job opportunities. God was the only thing we had to relied on. Food was hard to come by, but our main concern was safety, as gangs ruled the streets. Often the country was in total locked down! Kids couldn’t go to school, and the people couldn’t go out to sell their merchandise or go to church. Unfortunately, that has not changed even today.
As a little girl, I always wanted to be the hero of my family. My dream was to buy a home so my mom's dream to have a boutique and my dad’s dream to have a bakery could come true. After God, I'm their only hope to make their dreams come true. Thirteen years ago, God accomplished one of His promises to me. In Jeremiah 29:11 He said, "For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans for wholeness and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope”. His plans for me were to be adopted by a loving and caring family in the US where I learned God's love and forgiveness. I found hope and a future and learned to dream big dreams. I also learned that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
My prayer and request to all of you is that you would prayerfully consider how you can help me help my families dream come true. A very modest home in Haiti will cost $5,000.00 US. I know that is a lot of money, but with God’s help, anything is possible.
Thank you and God bless you!
