From the onset of this COVID-19 crisis, donations to Dust Devil Ranch Sanctuary for Horses began falling. Today, several weeks in, our hay and feed supplies are critically low, as are our emergency funding reserves.
Currently we're caring for 26 horses -- permanent residents here at the ranch because of their special needs.
These horses need to be fed twice daily which means a lot of hay. The price of hay varies, depending on a variety of factors, but on average the cost per month runs approximately $2,500-$3,000. This does not include grain and feed supplements.
Keeping the horses properly fed is one of the largest, necessary expenses for us.
Before COVID-19, monthly donations sufficiently covered the cost of feed. But COVID-19 has severely impacted regular contributions. Our ability to replenish feed supplies has been severely impacted.
Dust Devil Ranch is 100% dependent on donations to support the horses in our care and our mission to rescue and rehabilitate abused and starving horses. Without donations, we cannot continue.
This is why we established this campaign -- we need your help to keep the horses fed.
Your donation will help us do that, and it will be earmarked just for feed. Nothing else.
Please help us keep the horses in our care well fed and healthy through this COVID-19 pandemic.
We wish you and your loved ones safety and good health.
In gratitude... from our hearts to yours...
