International Cancer Care and Research Excellence (I-CCARE) is a non-profit providing treatment, housing, and food for children with cancer in Mwanza, Tanzania. With the spread of COVID-19 to Tanzania, to increase protection against the virus for this very high risk, immunocompromised group of patients, I-CCARE had to purchase additional personal protective equipment (PPE), hand sanitizer, and soap for all of the patients, their families, and staff. While it was a necessity to purchase these items to protect the health of these children, unfortunately it meant repurposing our limited existing funding. With 75 children actively receiving chemotherapy, I-CCARE needs additional support during this pandemic to ensure that the we can cover the cost of potentially curative therapy for these children. Three months of medications will cost $4000.
Any donation would be greatly appreciated, as it is giving children in Tanzania a fighting chance against cancer! If you prefer, please feel free to direct donate on the ICCARE website: www.i-ccare.org (501c3 charity).
