Hi Everyone! My name is Chase Gaudino and I am a current student at Worcester Polytechnic Institute studying Environmental Engineering and plan to minor in Global Public Health.This summer, I hope to travel to Ghana with Saha Global to help women in the communities outside of Tamale, Ghana build water purification systems and implement clean water businesses. Half of Northern Ghana’s population lacks access to clean drinking water - they currently drink from a fecally (poo) contaminated “dugout”, which leads to many waterborne diseases such as cholera. Saha Global empowers women in these rural communities to solve their village’s need for clean water and electricity by providing business opportunities. All of the revenue from these businesses stays within the respective community, managed by the female entrepreneurs.
Why is this important to me?
A big part of who I am as a person is the importance of helping those in need. I really value being able to give my time and service regardless of the conditions I may have to endure. I want to be able to help the people in these rural communities because they don’t have access to an amenity many people have within their own home. I want to be able to make a difference in the world and in their lives- and I know creating a clean water source will do that.
Why Donate?
100% of your generous donation will go towards in-country equipment to build, monitor, and maintain this water purification system and provide the female entrepreneurs with the initial infrastructure to run a profitable clean water business. Once established, this business will provide a permanent source of safe drinking water for hundreds and hundreds of people. With your donation, I’ll be doing the dirty work. I just need your help to get the water flowing! So far, Saha Global has established 122 clean water businesses and 28 solar electricity businesses, 100% of which are still fully operational. I can’t do this without your help.
