Help the horses of GAIT, Inc. during this difficult time.
We continue to provide the quality of care that our supporters have grown to expect of Gaited Advocate Intervention Team, Inc. Our volunteers, boarding barn and training partners are on the front lines for our horses. But the "stay at home" orders in Maryland and Pennsylvania have created challeges for the rescue and we are asking for your help.
If we are able to raise at least $1000 through this campaign, we are eligible for matching funds from Giving Tuesday Now: GoFundMe Charity Match Program; #GivingTuesdayNow This means your donation may have double impact. We know things are difficult for everyone right now, and every donated dollar is so greatly appreciated! Please consider a small donation to make a big impact on the lives of the horses and at the same time, help support local equestrian farms, service providers, feed mills and the local farmers where we purchase supplies and services.
Because of the COVID-19 restrictions, it has been very challenging to move forward with the adoption of our available horses. While we have found a few creative ways around a few of these challenges, the majority of our adoption candidates have had to put their dreams on temporary hold until we can open the barns to visitors. This, combined with a slowing of private donations, have created financial challenges for GAIT, Inc. We rely on spring adoptions to replace funds that have been used throughout the winter to support our horses, and those funds aren't coming into the rescue right now.
Additionally, due to financial crisis created by COVID-19 for some of our fosters and adopters, we have had six GAIT, Inc. horses returned to the rescue so far, and anticipate they will not be the last. So in addition to the horses we were already caring for, those that are ready for adoption, as well as those still in the evaluation and rehabilitation process, we are now caring for additional horses that have been returned to us.
Your gift will help provide immediate financial support so we can purchase essential feed, medicines, and other supplies as well as provide the funds for essential services like veterinarians, farriers and equine dentists. Help keep our horses safe and healthy through this crisis.
