Who we are:
Flathead Valley Roller Derby strives to provide a supportive, competitive team sport environment to the women of the valley, and we need your help!
Our league is 100% volunteer-run, and we get by on a shoestring budget most of the time.
Why now?
As we roll into our new league member recruitment season, we want to make sure we can provide access to the highest number of participants possible.
To do that, we need two things: practice space, and enough appropriate protective gear and skates to lend to new skaters while they test drive the sport and save up to purchase their own gear.
Gear can be a prohibitive up-front expense for new skaters, and it takes some time for individuals to acquire their own, especially as they are figuring out if this sport is for them!
We never want lack of funds to be the barrier to entry for interested skaters, so we maintain a library of used skates and gear to check out to new folks.
We're currently in need of repair and expansion of this library, and that's where you come in! Roller derby can be an expensive (but incredibly rewarding) sport to play, and we strive to keep member costs low so that we can maximize access to folks who really benefit from learning how to challenge themselves, how to build strength and confidence, and how to work together toward a common goal.
Can you help us keep the league rolling?
Your contribution of $25 would mean a pair of wrist guards to help protect a new skater from injury.
Your contribution of $50 would mean a helmet to protect a new skater's brain.
Your contribution of $75 would mean the cost of our practice space for a two-hour practice.
Your contribution of $150 would mean a sturdy pair of skates that fits a new skater's feet properly while they learn.
