Florin Road Bingo has been raising money for the charities in and around the Sacramento area for over 40 years. Each year distributing more than $1,000,000 to those charities.
We thought we had prepared the hall to get through tough times by having a savings account to cover not operating for a month or two due to an emergency or for upgrades to the hall for our players.
Then the pandemic hit. We were closed in the middle of March. We were allowed to open for two weeks in June, but had to shut down again as the virus numbers in the state started to rise again. We have made it through to September, but our savings is now depleted. We are working towards getting Drive-in Bingo going, which will raise some money for the charities and for bills, but we will be limited in what we can do to raise funds using that form of bingo.
So we have come to the point where we are reaching out to the community to see if we can get some help to make it through the pandemic to the point where we can get back to bingo inside and making money for the charities around Sacramento. We think we need to find a way to get to the beginning of the year and hopefully we can get back to the fun that we all have playing bingo and raising money for the charities.
