Elderly Advocates is a Community Based Non-Profit that is built on people helping people from their knowledge, experience, and from their heart.
Our older generation is known to not like any type of change. Now, they are facing sudden drastic changes in their lives in nursing homes.
Their world has been turned upside down!
The lack of information, isolation, and loss of their families visiting them in person, has left them to just accept whatever happens and many times, results in some having a mental decline along with their health challenges. The mental decline can lead to physical decline as well.
Elderly Advocates continues to be a voice for the elderly by currently engaging an effort to allow cameras in resident rooms so that their family advocates can check on them 24/7, call the nurses' station if they need assistance, and for the families to be able to talk more often to them and help reassure them that families are still part of their support and advocate team.
We continue to bring awareness to the challenges we know they are facing and seek to have them addressed by being their voice to our leaders in our state, through getting awareness out through recent media articles and interviews, and social media. We continue to bring information and resources to families that do not have knowledge of what help is available to them.
An extra day has been added to #GivingTuesday on May 5th, 2020 to help with the challenges COVID-19 brings to all of us in continuing our efforts.
Please donate today to help provide a voice for those that no longer have theirs. Whether you donate $5 or $50, it goes a long way to help us help the elderly in nursing homes, whom we will not leave behind!
