Our Fundraiser seeks to contribute to the International Rescue Committee (IRC), which was founded in 1933 by Albert Einstein. The IRC strives to improve the lives of refugees around the world with immediate assistance and many program services including education efforts for displaced children.
Many of those who are impacted are children, who unfortunately are forced to sacrifice their education. Every child deserves an education and the IRC aims to give this to them. Less than 3% of all charitable aid goes towards education. The IRC seeks to change this by allocating more resources towards education programs for children who are experiencing displacement due to war and unrest. Over 34 million of displaced people are children, whose education is too often overlooked when receiving aid.
More recently, the IRC has also partnered with Sesame Street in their educational efforts. These efforts include a promotional episode on ‘60 Minutes’ and expanding Sesame Street to the Middle East in more than 20 countries.
Your donation today will immediately assist refugees everywhere including children and will ultimately work towards giving them the education they deserve. For more information on the International Rescue Committee and ways that you can get involved, visit
