Access to public hunting lands can be challenging for any hunter. Access for hunters with disabilities is even more challenging. Earlier this year, a disabled hunter won the coveted President’s Island hunts through the 2020 Tennessee Conservation Raffle. During the course of his first hunt, we discovered that his motorized wheelchair did not provide him with reliable off-road capability. This limitation impacted where he was able to hunt, and potentially his opportunity for success. We want to make sure that disabled sportsmen have every advantage possible when they take to the woods. That’s why we’ve decided to raise funds to purchase an Action Trackchair. TWRF plans to make the use of this wheelchair available (free of charge) to disabled hunters across Tennessee on TWRA quota hunts and special events. TWRA is excited about the opportunity and has agreed to transport the chair to any region of the state when there is a need. Your donation today will help ensure that disabled hunters will have better access to public land hunting.
