Celebrating 41 years, The Indiana Ballet Theatre (IBT) is proud to have taught over 9,500 students throughout the NW Indiana/Chicagoland area.
Gloria Tuohy, CEO & Artisitic Director, along with her daughter Amanda, Artistic Director & Dance Movement Therapy advocate, have guided their dancers to not only love and appreciate the arts but to create careers in it.
Gloria and Amanda's love for the performing arts has been the driving force behind their dedication to develop outreach programs for at-risk and physically challenged children.
The IBT is only one facet of Gloria and Amanda's mission! In 2017, they were deeded the historical Nurses Home in Crown Point. This 1930s majestic Georgian building is rich with history, having housed many brave nurses who were combatting Tuberculosis in the early 20th century.
Gloria's vision is of a facility that would house not only the IBT, but also Southshore Arts and Indiana Symphony. The Classical Arts Centre plans to also house a black box theatre, banquet area, English-style cafe, tea room, elaborate gardens, plus many more features yet to be imagined!
Gloria and Amanda's love and dedication are priceless, however, their vision is not! So many wonderful people have made donations and pledges throughout the years. In the hopes of your support, IBT seeks to reach its goal to bring Crown Point (and surrounding NW Indiana) a place where children and adults alike can gather to enjoy the arts!
Imagine the Chicago Civic Opera House or The Chicago Theater on a smaller scale.
A Classical Arts Centre right here in NWI for all to enjoy!
