CCM Really needs your help!
At Children's Chorus of Maryland & School of Music (CCM), we believe that music communicates the essence of the human spirit, and that the voice is the first true musical instrument. At CCM children travel on a path to true musical literacy, training body, ear, voice and mind in order to fully understand, enjoy and appreciate making music with others through singing. Being part of a community of dedicated collaborators feeds our young singers’ emotional and social needs, so desperately lacking during this time of considerable isolation.
At CCM we vow to continue forward safely with virtual musicianship classes, rehearsals, creative performances and musical community building in order to uphold our promise to our singers from throughout Baltimore, Harford, Howard and Anne Arundel counties for musical learning, growth and collaboration no matter the world condition.
In our efforts to afford our young singers every new opportunity for learning, rehearsing and performing for their families, friends, and community audiences in their socially distanced worlds, we are facing technological and financial challenges we never imagined. Technology does exist that will enable our singers to finally sing synchronously while distanced, and experience the feeling that comes from hearing their collective sound, but is not inexpensive.
With new expenses needed to continue our mission under these unprecedented conditions that have already caused financial hardship, comes a greater need for donations than ever before. Please help Children’s Chorus of Maryland & School of Music continue to empower our musical children now! They deserve our very best efforts to not let this part of their development fade into their past.
We believe that what is best about us has been recorded in our musical heritage. In teaching this language to children, we are passing on an essential part of the human experience to future generations. Generations of not only skilled musicians, but of model collaborative citizens.
