CCM’s Financial Future – A Call to Action!
COVID has created the greatest financial challenge in CCM’s 46-year history. We need your help to ensure CCM’s survival!
· Concert ticket income has been lost while concert venues remain closed
· Donation income has been reduced as donors face their own financial losses
· Enrollment (and therefore tuition income) has declined, while many families struggle to balance online school with other online activities.
· Rental income has been lost as groups are no longer renting space in our facility
· Like so many other small non-profit arts organizations, CCM has very limited funding options to carry us through this pandemic
· More nonprofits than ever are competing for funding
Though we have continued to offer instruction and rehearsal virtually, and have applied for and received every kind of Federal and local relief funding for which we qualified, the drain on CCM’s resources has been devastating.
In order to stretch our dollars as far as possible, staff have taken pay cuts, we have sought and received expense reductions, have held small virtual fundraisers and have ramped up our efforts to reconnect with legacy donors.
Virtual learning comes with its own set of costs. Our staff, working at reduced wages, are putting in more time than ever learning new technologies and developing extensive virtual programming in order to continue to afford our young singers every new opportunity for learning, rehearsing and performing.
And CCM’s commitment to our choristers has given rise to Car Choir! With the help of a vast team of staff, volunteers, and professional sound engineers, CCM students have come together to sing from within their cars, for distanced rehearsals and a family sing-along. These Car Choir sessions have been a true gift for the children – to sing together and hear one another again, harmonizing in real time, providing an amazing respite and source of hope at a time of such isolation.
Please help Children’s Chorus of Maryland & School of Music continue to empower our musical children! They deserve our very best efforts to not let this part of their development fade into their past. We don’t want 46 years worth of beautiful children’s voices lifted up in song – 46 years of music education for children from every corner of our community-- to come to an untimely end.
Our next benchmark of $25,000 will be essential for us to cover costs of venues, as well as technology for rehearsals and performances in the upcoming season.
This is our call to action !!! Won’t you please help? Donate what you can… share this link with friends and family. Every donation will make a huge difference!
