We are looking to raise money for the children of the City Kids Wrestling Club. City Kids Wrestling, Inc. is a non-profit charitable contribution organization committed to using the sport of wrestling to promote character development, competitive spirit, and the pursuit of personal excellence for youth in City of Milwaukee. $25 gets a child his first pair of wrestling shoes! For $30, you can send a child to a three day summer wrestling camp! For $50, you can send a City Kids wrestler to the state freestyle & greco tournament! CKWC wrestlers have medaled at this tournament for 14 straight years.
The City Kids Wrestling Club coaching staff uses a standardized curriculum that incorporates anti-smoking, anti-drug and character building sessions, mental training, as well as wrestling fundamentals. Valuable discussions are held at every practice. These discussions are based off of three main categories: character building, life skills training, and mental toughness. To name a few characteristics, they will work on responsibility, fairness, citizenship, decision-making, coping with anger, self-improvement, and facing your fears. All City Kids Wrestling Coaches have undergone a USA Wrestling national background check; have obtained a USA Wrestling Coach License; and have wrestled in college, for a US Military wrestling team, the USA National Wrestling Team or have qualified for an individual state wrestling tournament. City Kids Wrestling Club trains its coaches in wrestling technique, coaching standards, officiating, CPR and First Aid, in addition to a standard background check. To be selected for a summer youth coaching positions, funded by the Milwaukee Area Workforce Investment Board, wrestlers must complete training and certification in all three areas. City Kids WC is a volunteer based organization and has no regularly paid staff. All donations are greatly appreciated.
