It's hard to believe that it's been three and a half years since our friend Brian Wallach was diagnosed with ALS. Since his diagnosis, Brian and his amazing wife Sandra have poured their abundant passion and energy into battling this disease. They now have an opportunity to reverse this cruel disease and restore Brian to health. Preliminary lab work has identified a specific biological process that is actually regrowing Brian's motor neurons--an astonishing and promising development that is so very exciting!! The next step is to get FDA approval, which will require more extensive private testing. Brian and Sandra have identified a lab that can and will do this quickly, but it will cost approximately $1.7 million. Brian and Sandra have worked hard since Brian's diagnosis to raise over $55 million for ALS research, which will help many people forever. But that money cannot cover this specific treatment for Brian, so they need our help.
I met Brian when he joined the Chicago U.S. Attorney's Office. I came to appreciate deeply Brian's intelligence, hard work, and humor. When diagnosed with ALS, he became a powerful advocate for research and progress. Let's honor Brian's contributions by being part of his recovery. Please give as generously as you are able. Please share with others who can help. Every dollar is tax deductible.
