I helped coordinate the first cohort of Seeding Change fellows in 2014, and then came back in 2017 to take on a staff role. There's so many reasons why the organization is amazing, but these are just a few:
- Through the fellowship program, we're able to connect with young people who are interested in being in relationship with movement and who WANT to create change.
- We work with kick-ass host site organizations who are doing some amazing work in local communities all across the country-- in defending our basic human rights, fighting for what others want to take away, and turning into reality the world that we need and deserve. They too understand the importance of investing in the future, and so on top of everything they do, they agree to host SC fellows.
- Seeding Change continues to be a movement experiment. Partly in how we hold space for young people, and partly for how we build out intergenerationally. And the lessons that we can teach each other.
Lately I've been reflecting a lot on what it means to build movement and create change, especially given the realities that we are in now, and what is to come as we move closer to 2020 (and beyond).
And no matter how optimistic or pessimistic I am on any given day, I know that the future belongs to all the fellows that have gone through the program and the generations that follow. And to all of us working together for the long haul. So here I am, working with folks half my age. Trying to figure out together how we all get free.
Alrighty, enough about that. If that didn't convince you to donate, you should know that I am turning 40 (woohoo!) in August!! Please help me reach my goal, that would be the best-est gift I can get!!
You can help by donating, and/or joining my team and getting others to donate!
So much appreciations to you for being in my life! <3
