For my Secondhand Hounds Bark in the Park fundrasier this year - I am making a goal of $1000 and walking or biking everyday. On June 5th I am planning on walking the trails at Clearly Lake Park and ask any family and friends that would like to join me with their dogs to come join me. I started volunteering at Secondhand Hounds as a way to help heal after the death of our Pug Otis. I made it my mission to help as many animals as I possibly could in his name. What I found was a need that was so great and a group of people that give their heart and soul everyday to say yes to as many animals as they possibly can. Rescue is not easy! I would be lying if I said I haven't cried many times. But there are parts that make it all worth it. Luckily, Brian is able to keep things in check and my fosters do end up finding their forever homes. But I almost always end up crying a second time in each dogs journey. There is nothing more pricless than recieving updates from one of our adopted dogs that are fully recovered, loved and adored by their adoptive family. That is the ending I fight for everyday!! I have started working for Secondhand Hounds as a volunteer staff and my healing has now become both my mission and my passion. Please help if you can.
