The Boston Marathon has long been my goal race every year. I plan my entire racing calendar around it and a qualifying run for the following year's race. I have often referred to it as "my church" because of what it has represented to me in the past years, and its driving force through all aspects of my life. The day the bombings happened I lost a part of my soul, and when I learned of Martin's passing...a boy close to Hayden's age just watching the marathoners, I couldn't even fathom it.
Bill and Denise Richard have suffered such tremendous pain because of that day but they have turned their pain into something SO good. They have woven Martin's memory into the fabric of the Boston Marathon and into the Boston area community. It's truly incredible to see all that this family has done to honor their son and their own injuries to truly demonstrate BOSTON STRONG. While this is the final year for the marathon team, I know that the work they have done will continue to live on forever. Please consider giving to the amazing cause and in doing so you will show the world that even in the toughest times we can, and we WILL, come back stronger. Thank you so much!!
