Thanks for visiting my fundraising page for the 2020 Boston Marathon!
The Heather Abbott Foundation was founded by Heather Abbott following the amputation of her left leg; the result of injuries sustained in the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013.
I first met Heather Abbott in the summer of 2013 while working as a Physical Therapy Aide at OPT Physical Therapy in Middletown, RI. Heather was the first amputee that I ever had the opportunity to work with, and her positive outlook as well as her motivation and perseverance to walk with her new prosthesis truly inspired me. After now working as Physical Therapist for over 4 years, my favorite part about my job is seeing patients achieve their goals and get back to the activities and lifestyles that they enjoy; that make up their identity.
HAF's mission is to help provide customized prostheses to amputees who have lost limbs due to traumatic circumstances. Your donations will help amputees obtain prosthetic devices that they could not otherwise afford. Help amputees to embody the HAF motto "Live Your Life!" and do the same by contributing to those with disabilities in your community!
