Friends, a rescue partner of ours, Gary's Adoptable Dogs, works really hard to find dogs great homes. However, many of the older dogs that he rescues come to his rescue with heartworms, a parasite that slowly kills dogs by doing damage to their heart and lungs. Heartworms are expensive to treat, and out-of-state rescues often won't accept dogs that have an untreated infestation. Many of the dogs with this issue could have a home and a family if it weren't for this one health issue, which is treatable with enough money.
That's why we're helping to fundraise heartworm treatment for these three cuties, Annabelle, Sally, and BooBoo. All came in to Gary's with heatworm infections but have no other known health issues. That means they could just be months away from their new homes. At the cost of roughly $400 per dog, they could soon be ready for a new life. Because the medicine is expensive, it is more cost-effective to try to treat multiple dogs at once than each dog one at a time. That's where you come in. Can you help us raise enough money to start these dogs on a course of treatment?
