We are fighting overpopulation, abandonment and abuse of cats on many fronts. We run a small shelter for cats that we find abandoned stray in need of care. As a no kill shelter, we take them all in, not just ones that are young healthy and adoptable. We have a number of cats that were not yet adopted because of medical or behavioral reasons. These special needs cats require costly medical care.
We also do Trap-Neuter-Return of colony (community) cats that are in safe locations and being taken care of by caretakers. We do this to prevent the births of more sick and homeless kittens. The adults that we TNR are vaccinated for Rabies and Distemper. Other conditions are also addressed, such as deworming or ear mites. We take in the kittens, get them fully vetted, spayed/ neutered, and socialized for adoption.
We still have many more adults to spay and neuter. We don't know yet if there are many more kittens. We must continue spaying and neutering so no more sick kittens are born.
We have performed rescues like these and others for 40 years. Our dedication to cats is unwavering. We have helped any cat that has crossed our path. We were invited again to participate in this Crowdrise Fund the Shelters Challenge. As in the earlier Michelson Found Animals Challenge, there are bonuses and prizes according to how many donations we get. Our rescue would be blessed to receive enough funds to continue our work. Help us so we can help them. We appreciate your continuing support. Thank you.
