My name is Sydney baker and in November of 2018 I was crowned miss Huntington middle school. Through this title many opportunities have been offered to me as well as the ability to support causes such as the children’s miracle network and now the American Heart Association. The American Heart Association is a program that is held near and dear to my family’s hearts due to the fact that both my grandad and my papa have Been affected by heart diseases in the past. My Papa was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation, also known as AFib. AFib is a quivering or irregular heartbeat which can lead to other issues such as blood clots, stroke, heart failure, and other heart related disorders. While this has had such a large impact on not only my family, but it also affects more than 2.7 million people in America alone. With the mission of being a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives, the American Heart Association is a non-profit organization that funds cardiovascular medical research, educates consumers on healthy living and fosters appropriate cardiac care in an effort to reduce disability and deaths caused by cardiovascular disease and stroke. With your help I would love to support this amazing organization by donating funds towards the research and education that the A.H.A supports. Your contribution will make an impact. Whether you donate $1 or $100. Every penny counts!!
