Veterans are doing mutual aid and demanding demilitarized Covid19 Response!
Our veteran community sprang into action - we formed mutual aid networks to help our neighbors. We reached out and checked in with each other to make sure veterans were doing ok in this traumatizing time. We worked with allies to respond to the possible militarization of the COVID response; which brought together a coalition and the attention of congresswoman Ilhan Omar to address and our demand for healthcare, not warfare is now part of the public policy discussion.
Our organization needs your help to this important work. We have two goals - one is to be able to pay our veteran leaders a stipend to grow their amazing work around demilitarizing responses to COVID -- especially because so many are out of employment options -- and the second is to give mini-grants to veteran members who find themselves struggling due to COVID and are unable to access other forms of aid.
Can we count on you to continue to support this outstanding group of veterans who, when things got difficult, reached out with mutual aid, community care, and spoke out to keep the powers that be in check?
Please consider a donation today to help us achieve these two goals.
Because of you, veterans can continue to organize and help their communities. Because of you, veterans can help each other through traumatic times. Because of you, we can ensure that we get healthcare, not warfare. Thank you for being part of our incredible community of supporters!
