Standup paddling for a good cause. Greetings from "Paddleboard Man" on Whitmore Lake, maybe you've seen me out there? I've paddled over 400 miles so far this year (8/10), most of those miles have been on Whitmore Lake. Paddling has helped me immensely both mentally and physically this year, and I want to give back.
So I'm doing Standup For The Cure Virtual Event to raise awareness and funds for screening for Breast Cancer. The morning of 8/29 I'll be paddling 13.1 miles, a half marathon. I'll be departing Mac's Marina at 8am, and completeing 3 laps of the lake.
There will also be some specials at Dee's Ice Cream and Peaberry Bean & Beats will be donating a portion of sales that day.
I'll be doing an informal Q&A at Peaberry when I'm done paddling.
Please donate if you are able and it aligns with your charitable goals. More than that, I'd love to see your smiling faces at the end of your dock or along the park front. If anyone wants parade in their boat, that's cool too. If anyone wants to paddle with me, kayak, canoe, SUP, whatever, please consider registering for the event yourself. The more the merrier. I would love it if this is something we could do as a community together.
Join me to #keepstandupafloat and help raise money for breast cancer screening and research!
