My name is Sean Finamore and I am excited and honored to announce that I will be running in the 2020 Boston Marathon, raising money for the Phillips Brookes House Association's annual Summer Urban Program!
PBHA is an umbrella organization that instills the importance of service within the university community and provides Harvard students opportunities to volunteer with programs and organizations in Cambridge and the Greater Boston Area. PBHA's Summer Urban Program is a youth summer program that delivers educational and enrichment programming to underserved youth. All funds raised from this page will be used to support the resources necessary to create a memorable and rewarding summer experience for all of the children that will have the opportunity to participate this upcoming summer. Since the inception of the Harvard College Marathon Challenge, runners have raised over $782,000 for various PBHA programs and this tradition continues to today. I have run long-distance in Cross Country and Track & Field both in Middle & High-School, but this will be my first time racing anything longer than 10 kilometers. Since arriving in Cambridge, one of my life goals was to run a marathon and push myself physically & mentally to a point I have never experienced before. However, running the Boston Marathon was an opportunity I thought I would never have. I am so grateful for being offered this chance, and I am so lucky to be able to do so this year in support of such a worthy cause.
I greatly appreciate and thank you for any contribution you are able to make, no matter how big or small, and I promise to train as hard as possible in the coming days, weeks, and months. It will truly be an honor to run with the friendship and support of all of you behind me!
