Creekside, Round, Village and Lakes Elementary Schools of Hartland Consolidated Schools in Hartland, Michigan are teaming up this April for their second annual Hartland Strong for Mott campaign.
Each school will be participating in a physical activity as a way to fundraise for the Little Victors at the University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital.
This year, the students of these schools are raising money to create a special MR-I Can Do It Magnetic Resonance Imaging room featuring kid-friendly facades and murals.
Today’s MRI equipment is not customized with pediatric patients in mind. An MRI procedure can be frightening, and sometimes traumatic, for children, who frequently require additional support and/or sedation, and their families.
Through the addition of facades and murals, Mott can transform the diagnostic MRI experience, reducing fears, anxiety and the need for sedation. With a focus on patient and family-centered care, this is an essential piece of creating a child-friendly, age appropriate environment.
Any remaining funds will support the Always Remembered Bereavement Giving Library and special programs for the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology department including Meals for Mott, a long-standing Hartland community initiative to provide nourishing meals for patients and families on the 7th floor.
We hope you will consider joining our cause this April.
