In 2018, over 1.4M acres burned affecting tens of thousands of households across California. The Mendocino Complex Fire was the largest recorded fire complex in California history, scorching nearly 500,000 acres in Lake and Mendocino Counties.
Aster Farms was directly affected by the Mendocino Complex Fire, losing a number of structures and the house on the property. While the Aster team was able to recover, there are many who have not.
The Harry's Harvest Emergency Fundraiser is a way for Aster Farms and our family and friends to give back by helping those recently affected by the fires.
Our first recipients are our local volunteer fire departments, beginning with the Lakeport Fire Protection District Volunteer Firefighters and Hopland Fire Protection District Volunteers.
Harry’s Harvest is dedicated to the half tabby, half bobcat, Harry, who lived on the farm. When the Aster team had to evacuate from the Ranch Fire (part of The Mendocino Complex Fire), Harry was the only animal missing. Since then, kind neighbors, volunteers from animal rescue organizations and friends have been helping in his search. So far, Harry has not been found, but we won't give up hope.
Harry’s Harvest honors those who are touched by California wildfires.
Please give, and if you’re able, please give generously!
