Haynes Harbour, Inc. prides itself on seeking, saving, and serving the vulnerable populace in underserved communities in an effort to alleviate human trafficking, poverty, hunger, and homelessness.
Haynes Harbour, Inc. is a provider of integrative health and social services. Our goal is to reach, rescue, restore, and reintegrate individuals in crises with solutions to better their lives. We expand opportunities by providing services and programming for victim/survivors of human trafficking. These strengthening services/programs are designed to improve the lives and living conditions of vulnerable populations including: victims and survivors of human trafficking with an emphasis on expecting/nurturing youth, women, and individuals identifying as LGBTQ. Our comprehensive models focus on the art of nourishing the mind, body, and spirit. Consumers can engage in any of our individual, group, integrative/creative wrap-around services, and enrichment/entrepreneurship programming.
Harbour for Humanity Initiative:
Our anti-human trafficking residential initiative is a combination of twelve crisis short-term and transitional long-term safe harbors to address the unmet needs and support of vulnerable populace. The purpose of our residential initiative is to develop effective strategies on how community organizations can aid in the housing needs of expecting/nurturing youth/women and individuals identifying as LGBTQ who are victims and survivors of human trafficking.
We have identified that individuals who have been trafficked experience physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual scarcity related to their traumas. Most importantly, these survivors need to feel safe, both physically and emotionally. Securing safe harbors will be vital to establishing physical and emotional safety for consumers, which is an essential ingredient for their recoveries. It is our goal by Dec. 2021 to secure/purchase 14 distressed properties and repurpose them with “Green Building/Living Options (GLO),” to provide safe crisis housing and transitional long-term housing for victims and survivors of human trafficking.
We are determined to increase the response to victims/survivors of human trafficking by providing direct interventions and advocacy services. Essentially, one program alone will not be enough to provide the entire continuum of services needed. Therefore, collaboration with private donors, residential/commercial developers, rental communities, community agencies, legal services, NGOs, direct service providers, and private sectors remains a vital component.
