I love this photo of my sweet Dad!
My Dad’s life was the embodiment of the quote, “Words don’t teach, we teach thru the clarity of our example.” Loyalty, love, selflessness and “doing the right thing” were the values he lived by. He modeled what living a joyful life can be….singing songs at family parties, creating simple games to keep his kids engaged and entertained, choosing to look for the good in others, and living life with a spirit of “anticipating the next laugh”. Life with my Dad was fun… and he taught us well!
My Dad died of congestive heart failure in 2004, following two episodes of rheumatic heart fever… first as a child, and then in adulthood. Throughout his life, he demonstrated how to live gracefully and fully, in spite of physical challenges and surgeries.
This year Harboring Hearts celebrates 10 years of helping heart patients and their families by providing housing assistance and other vital support. It is a privilege to again honor my father thru participation in the Harboring Hearts Father’s Day Campaign.
