As many of you know, my sister was born with a congenital heart defect (CHD) and was fortunate to have been diagnosed and treated early. However, nine out of ten children with CHD are born in low resourced settings. Diagnosis and treatment of CHD remains a challenge in these settings due to an overall shortage of trained medical professionals. One Heart Health is a registered nonprofit organization whose mission is to develop cost-effective medical technologies to enable early diagnosis of heart disease in children who experience barriers to access.
The One Heart app screens the hearts of children who are overlooked. It is an economical, portable and scalable telemedicine system developed by One Heart Health that allows healthworkers the ability to conduct heart screenings on children in low resourced, rural or remote locations.
This organization and its mission means a lot to me. Please join me in giving!
