Thomas grew up in Madison, Alabama. He attended Auburn University and graduated with a Bachelor of Music Education degree in 2012. Hannah, a native of Amory, Mississippi, graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2013 with a Bachelor of Music degree. They both decided to continue their studies and go to graduate school where they met and shared a tiny office in the music building with four other graduate assistants. After studying together, sharing stories with each other and making each other laugh, Hannah decided to stop playing hard to get and finally agreed to date Thomas - best decision EVER. While in graduate school, they were invited to sing as choral scholars for St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. Little did they know that a job would turn into a loving, accepting church home. Thomas was confirmed in 2013 and Hannah was confirmed in 2015 as members of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. They would not be where they are today without the love and support of St. Peter’s. Hannah currently serves as the children’s choir director at St. Peter’s and Thomas serves as a member of the Vestry. Thomas graduated with a Master of Music in choral conducting from Ole Miss in 2014 and Hannah followed suite in 2015. After graduation, Hannah began serving on the Alumnae Advisory Committee for Pi Beta Phi Fraternity. She is in her fourth year of service with Pi Beta Phi, and she is grateful for the opportunity to be a small part of helping these young women grow into motivated, empowered, confident individuals. Thomas and Hannah consider themselves to be the luckiest people on the planet because they both get to live and work in the place where their lives together started - Oxford. This is Thomas’ fourth year as the choir director at Oxford High School. He teaches the OHS Chamber Choir, Women’s Ensemble, Men’s Choir, AP Music Theory, Music Appreciation and Dual Credit Music Appreciation in conjunction with Northwest Mississippi Community College. Thomas currently serves as the Artistic Director for the Oxford Civic Chorus. Hannah is in her third year of teaching at Lafayette Middle School and Lafayette High School. She teaches the LMS Advanced Choir, LMS Beginner Choir, LHS Choir, Music Appreciation and Dual Credit Music Appreciation through Northwest Mississippi Community College. Thomas and Hannah enjoy spending time with friends, loving on our preciously perfect pup, Tucker, and partaking in the delicious food and drink that Oxford provides. As educators, Thomas and Hannah know the importance of encouraging students and fostering a joy for learning within every child. Every person, no matter their age, background or shoe size, deserves the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. Learning is fun(damental), learning is life-changing and learning is a lifelong. We love being apart of the Oxford-Lafayette Community, and we look forward to continuing to grow the hearts and minds of students of all ages for years to come.
