My name is Dave Byrnes and I’m raising funds for this organization because I strongly believe in the mission, vision, and values of For Hank’s Sake. I have witnessed firsthand how Hank’s huge heart is able to bring smiles to those in despair, giggles to little ones who need hope, and inspiration to those who need to know that anyone can overcome hard times...animals and humans alike.
Over the past 5 years I have watched Tammi give her life to rehabilitate and retrain her horses, not to ride, but to inspire and help children who are sick or disadvantaged. I’ve had the privilege of watching Tammi train Hank, and other members of her herd. There’s something very special about the relationship between this trainer and her horses. She truly is a “horse whisperer”.
Because of her God given abilities, unrelenting persistence, and countless hours of training her team of rescued horses and retired racehorses, she has developed an extraordinary bond with Hank and the entire herd. This bond enables Tammi to take her horses to places full size horses don’t normally go, reaching people others can’t, and giving hope to people who desperately need it.
Have you ever seen a 17 hand, 1,350-pound horse walking around in libraries, senior living facilities or community neighborhoods? Tammi even trained Hank to ring the bell for The Salvation Army last year. He and Tammi made more than a dozen appearances at local Lexington, Kentucky venues, raising nearly $6,000 while spreading holiday love and joy to countless shoppers.
For Hank’s Sake is definitely not your average equine rescue nonprofit foundation. I believe this organization is destined to touch the lives of thousands, and help make this world a better place for all of us. COVID-19 can’t derail this mission...it must march on! Hank and Tammi now need our support so that they can continue to fulfill their mission they started years ago.
COVID-19 has hit the organization hard. All of their public fundraisers, as well as Hank’s personal appearances that raise money for the foundation, have been canceled. Tammi’s employment contracts have been canceled, and Federal and State programs have been of little help, yet the expenses of caring for the horses haven’t changed. Personal funds have been exhausted and assets have been sold. The future of this amazing organization is in jeopardy and our help is desperately needed! With the winter season upon us, Hank and his herd need your support to help purchase hay, feed, vet care, and other seasonal necessities to ensure the health and comfort of the herd.
How You Can Help - Donate!
100% of your generous donations will go directly to the purchase of the herd’s winter hay and feed supply, veterinary and farrier care, medical supplies, and labor costs needed to care for the For Hank’s Sake herd. With your support, we can make sure that Hank and his herd mates have the supplies needed for their safety, comfort, and care throughout the winter and beyond. There will always be horses that need to be rescued from a life of hardship, cruelty, and neglect. They need people like Tammi, and YOU, that can make a significant difference in their lives.
I sincerely thank you for your generous support. Tammi, Hank, and her entire herd appreciate every donation, your kindness, your thoughtfulness, and your generosity. If you are unable to donate at this time, please take the time to share my campaign with your family and friends, so that together we can provide love and a helping hand to those without a voice. Truly, sharing is caring.
