The Gunslinger Hockey Club (HC) is made up of veterans, active duty military, law enforcement, fire fighters and EMTs. The group has formed from all over New England to play in the 2019 Heroes Cup in order to fundraise for charity. The Gunslinger HC has chosen to fundraise in support of the Skate for the 22 Foundation. The Skate for the 22 Foundation (SFT22), a New England based 501c3 non-profit, provides a team based supportive environment at no cost for veterans in order to reduce drastically high veteran suicide rate of 20-22 a day. The SFT22 does this using the sport of hockey using teamwork to bring veterans back to a place where they continue to serve with their bothers and sisters again through charity hockey games and events. The SFT22 also provides suicide prevention and awareness seminars for veterans and their families. Finally, the SFT22 provides financial assistance and yearly scholarships to families of veterans who have committed suicide.
The Bfit Heroes cup is a weekend long hockey tournament for Firefighters, Police Officers, Military, and EMS. Over 100 teams will compete on ice to see who will take the Cup. Off Ice competition is in the fundraising!
The first $1500 raised goes to the Hero’s cup foundation to cover tournament fees; every dollar raised above $1500 goes directly to the Skate for the 22 Foundation.
The Hero’s Cup Foundation was established to promote the health and wellness of our first responders through social gatherings and physical activity, while raising funds and awareness for the needs of the first responder community and the charities they support.
Our players are true Heroes on and off the Ice, actively making this world a better place.
We appreciate your support and encourage you to read each team bio and learn their stories.
