We at the Long Island Native Plant Initiative (LINPI) are raising funds to build our greenhouse that will help propagate and conserve many native plant species found in wild areas across Long Island, NY. Native plants provide food and shelter for wildlife including the extremely important pollinators that allow us to enjoy all of the fruits, vegetables, and flowers we love. Planting native species will decrease the amount of habitat loss for our pollinators, and will promote the stewardship of our natural landscape. Without native plants, the natural biodiversity of our land will diminish.
Help LINPI continue to grow genetically native plants for your yard and land restorations by helping invest in the construction of our new greenhouse. Due to the recent relocation of our organization, we've been faced with the challenge of building completely new greenhouses from the ground up. As a non-profit organization we rely solely on the help and dedication of our supporters to help us and our plants keep growing. We can’t grow these vital species and supply you with the native plants you love without it. This greenhouse will be the heart of our success and our continued commitment to help preserve our natural heritage and the environment.
Many thanks to Suffolk County Water Protection and Restoration Program for the grant to support the greenhouse.
