Greenbrier Montessori is a queer-operated, one-room, non profit schoolhouse that serves children aged 3-6 with a high level of authentic Montessori care, part of the Wildflower network of schools
Our mission is to work in tandem with parents, especially BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ families in creating a safe, inclusive environment where their children can blossom as individuals. We recognize that each child and each family is unique, and we strive to protect and celebrate that uniqueness by sparking a child’s lifelong love of learning!
Greenbrier is committed to our revolutionary, thriving South Minneapolis neighborhood, and has the goal to partner with local BIPOC and queer artists and provide grants for studio space. By observing a working artist in their environment, children will be able to gain valuable life skills from the nuances that come with observing multiple types of creation.
Covid-19 has hit our tiny school hard, and we are asking for support in these uncertain times. If providing financial support is feasible for you, we are requesting monetary donations so that we can recoup some of our expenses. If you are unable to donate, please share our story and this fundraiser so we can get more eyes! We are so grateful to you, our community, and we are looking forward to giving back to Powderhorn for years to come.
Thank you for your consideration
Founding Greenbrier Teacher Leader,
Molly is a 10 year educator who got her start in Kansas City, MO. There, she obtained her preschool MEPI certification from Clay Platte Montessori after achieving a BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute. With emphasis on peace education, nature, and the arts, Molly believes that Dr. Montessori’s method has a profoundly positive impact on children through adulthood by fostering independence and nurturing a child’s natural curiosity. Her aim as an educator is to cater to carry the Montessori method and work with each unique child on their individual level. Molly has been a lead guide in Montessori Schools since 2010, and loves the philosophy and everything it has to offer future generations! If you’d ever like to “talk Montessori” with her, please don’t hesitate! When she’s not shaping young minds, Molly enjoys creating art, enjoying the outdoors with her dog, Indy, and reading mystery novels.
