Let's pull against poverty!
Pull Against Poverty is a fun fundraising tug-of war event organized by CVOEO to help fight poverty in our community.
At GMRD we like to put our muscle behind a good cause. Last year we paired up with the H-Team to for the Fire Truck Pull to support LGBT+ youth and this year we're pulling against poverty!
Our organization's aim is to empower women personally and athletically through the sport of roller derby. As a part of our mission statement, we strive to be a positive force in our community. We know that 13.5% of Vermont families with dependent children live in poverty. If the family is headed by a woman, the rate is nearly three times higher- or 37.5%.* Making this a cause near and dear to our hearts, we appreciate any and all support and look forward to using our strength to do some good. Please, donate what you can (use the DONATE button on the right)... Thank you!
GMRD will be competing Sat. Sept. 14 at 1pm on the United Methodist Church lawn (21 Buell St, Burlington).
Our friends at Switchback also sell at our games and we can't wait to celebrate the day's success with a nice cold beer! Come out, cheer us on and join the fun!

How CVOEO pulls against poverty
With your support, we help people to bridge gaps with housing, fuel and food assistance when hardship strikes (loss of a job, homelessness, unexpected illness). And we connect short-term and long-term solutions to poverty by providing ways to build stronger futures (credit-building, micro business development, weatherization, tax preparation assistance, early childhood education, and more).
