Our Mission: To increase awareness of the value of the arts in Sitka through education, advocacy, and programming.
We need your help to continue to support the arts in Sitka.
The Greater Sitka Arts Council is an umbrella organization that sponsors and supports many kinds of art in Sitka, including: Wearable Art Runway Show, Holiday Artisans Market, Kids Holiday Crafts Fair, Friday Art Walks, The Grind Variety Show, Sitka Folk Song Circle, Sitka Folk Open Mic, Community Theater Productions, Artists’ Receptions, Craft and Sip events, Public Art (Murals), Sound Equipment Rental, and event insurance and financial management.
Last year, we lost both state and local funding due to budget cuts. Due to this, we have lost our paid staff member, and have had to postpone Wearable Arts.
The money raised in this campaign will do two things: 1) help us cover the costs of putting on a great Wearable Arts show on September 19, 2020, and 2) will allow us to continue to operate until we can secure longer term funding.
In addition to showing your support through your financial donations, there are many ways to get involved with the Greater Sitka Arts Council. Volunteer on an event committee, help at our events, or propose an idea for an arts event.
Help us serve our mission to increase the awareness of the value of the arts in Sitka!
