Your Grandview Cemetery Association needs your help to care for four cemeteries in the Grandview area. These cemeteries are: Grandview (largest and located at the “Old Grand View townsite”), Odom (east of town about four miles on FM 916), Antioch (north of town about 3 miles) and Oakland (3 miles west of town on FM 916). Grandview Cemetery Association is an IRS 501 (c) (13) tax exempt organization.
To maintain these cemeteries, volunteers spend many hours in various tasks to make certain that the cemeteries are kept in a respectable condition. Volunteers manage the association prudently for the present and future. These efforts take much volunteer work and some ongoing expenses.
Primarily, the ongoing expenses are mowing and trimming. Other ongoing but smaller expenses are items such as insurance, postage, and printing. Occasionally, your Association has expenses that arise that will include road repair, dirt work, fence work, and so on. Be assured that expenses are managed frugally and kept as low as possible. Again, much of this work is performed by volunteers.
Due to dedicated and wise management over many years, your Association is blessed to have saved investment funds that provide some income. These funds are kept in a trust that is managed by First Financial Bank’s Trust Department. However, income from Association investments is usually not enough to pay annual expenses. This funding shortfall prompts this letter to anyone who has an interest in the Grandview Cemetery Association and the grounds entrusted to its care.
Please consider giving a donation to the Grandview Cemetery Association to defray ongoing expenses. Your donation will help ensure that these precious grounds are kept in good condition. Any gift of any size is much needed and appreciated.
