Emergency Fundraising for Girls' School
The global COVID-19 pandemic has hit one of our partner organizations in Kenya especially hard. We have created this emergency fundraiser to help bridge GRACE Nanana’s funding gap so that they can continue to provide the staff, food, housing, and personal effects required to care for the 26 children in their care full-time.
GRACE Nanana has struggled due to COVID-19. Revenue has plummeted as international donors shift their attention to issues in their home countries and the Kenyan government has ordered schools closed, eliminating the inflow of tuition from day-school students. Simultaneously, GRACE Nanana is being asked to help their community more than ever, as desperate parents seek help to feed their children.
Priscilla Nangurai, GRACE Nanana’s Founder and Executive Director, reached out to ask for help as they have nearly depleted their emergency fund. We hope that you can join us in rallying to raise funds and spread the word so that this wonderful and critical grassroots organization can continue their work, empowering and educating girls in Kajiado, Kenya.
Donations of all sizes matter, and 100% of the funds raised will go directly to support GRACE Nanana. Please contact email@example.com if you would like to make a stock transfer, give from your Donor Advised Fund (DAF), or have any other questions.
About GRACE Nanana: GRACE stands for Girls Rescue, Attention, Care, & Education. It operates under the Kajiado-based trust created by its founder, Priscilla Nangurai, called HELGA.
GRACE Nanana Girls Rescue Center in Kajiado, Kenya is a safehaven where Maasai girls can escape the illegal but still practiced customs of early marriage, female genital mutilation (FGM), and unwanted pregnancy in order to pursue education. Since its founding in 1986, GRACE has rescued more than 700 girls, providing them with meals, clothing, shelter, primary education, and healthcare, including counselling.
The School: Starting a primary school was the best way to provide education for the girls at the center. The school educates other children in the community as well, for an integrated and sustainable program with a current enrollment of over 80 students.
We thank you!
