Life is not always "RAINBOWS & UNICORNS," but for ONE DAY it can be!
It’s the first-ever Gotham Cheer Virtual 5K Charity Fundraiser.
On Sunday, Oct 25th, the Gotham Cheer performers and volunteers will run/walk a 5K route in New York City in colorful Rainbow and Unicorn-theme attire. This enchanting spectacle will brighten many people's day, but will also be the anchor point for us to collect donations for LGBTQ homeless youth.
Typically, Gotham Cheer is known for helping homeless LGBTQ youth through community service and our charitable fundraisers and energetic events, but now due to COVID-19 and NYC's quarantine, Gotham Cheer has had to pivot and form new creative ways to deliver our brand of dazzling SPIRIT and financial SUPPORT to those in need!
Here’s how YOU can help:
=> DONATE $20, $100, $300 or whatever you can to help us fundraise for HOMELESS YOUTH!
=> SPREAD THE WORD about Gotham Cheer and our two beneficiaries: Trinity Place Shelter and the ACQC Youth Drop-In Center.
As you may know, GOTHAM CHEER is a community-based 501(c)(3) NYC nonprofit adult LGBTQIA+ cheerleading team helping local charities.
Each year, Gotham Cheer chooses 1-2 local charities that benefit and empower New York City’s LGBTQIA+ youth. Gotham Cheer provides volunteers to assist the chosen nonprofit and its programs, promotes them year-round to increase awareness and visibility, and creates fundraisers that culminate in a year-end monetary donation that enhances the lives of New York City’s youth.
Trinity Place Shelter: For over a decade, Trinity Place Shelter has been fighting for, protecting and helping to save the lives of homeless LGBTQ youth. Their mission is to help homeless lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer (LGBTQ) youth and young adults (ages 18 to 24) in New York City to safely transition out of the shelter system and grow into independent, positive and productive adults.
ACQC: Located in Queens, NY, the AIDS Center of Queens County (ACQC) aims to enhance the quality of life for individuals and their families living with, and at risk for, HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C, and other chronic health conditions. In particular, ACQC has a new LGBT HOMELESS YOUTH DROP-IN CENTER that provides a safe, supportive space for homeless LGBT and at-risk youth, age 13-24, with services that empower youth to improve their lives.
100% of the proceeds raised will go to these two charities to help homeless youth!!
So from the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU and BIG CHEERS to YOU....for your support in making this event magical and brightening the lives of our future generations!
Everyone needs Unicorns! And Rainbows!
