On April 20th, 2020, I will be running the Boston Marathon!! I have played countless games and crossed finish lines, but certainly none as grand as that of running the Boston Marathon. Sports have always been a part of my life. My dad laced up my first pair of hockey skates at age three, and with it came a whole new world. Youth sports melted into travel teams, and that overlapped with competing in high school, which led me to playing field hockey and lacrosse in college. I learned the most important life lessons from coaches, and teammates became life long friends. Now, most of the time I am not the one competing but instead I am coaching young athletes and teaching Physical Education to middle school students. I hope I'm instilling skills, much greater than speed or agility, but instead confidence, leadership and teamwork. I see the long term benefits that sports bring to children and families, and I believe every child deserves to experience it. A goal that I have is running the Boston Marathon, and that is possible through supporting a charity with many of my shared values- Good Sports. Good Sports are bringing athletic equipment and opportunities to children all over the country that otherwise often get overlooked. These are children that will benefit greatly from access to athletics and I want to run to support that mission. Please join me in supporting this mission and consider making a donation to make this dream of mine a reality.
