Finishing a marathon is one of the most gratifying achievements I’ve had in my life. There is nothing to compare crossing the finish line after 26.2 miles of highs and lows. The feeling of satisfaction for pushing your limits is beyond any other athletic goal I've set so far.
Sports have been instrumental to who I’ve become today. Through sports, I know that if I commit to something the benefits are beyond winning, introduced me to new people and even shaped my professional career.
Being able to play is one of the greatest abilities that I have and a passion I can encourage of others. Healthy behaviors start young and I hope all children have as much fun playing sports as I have over the past 30 years.
An organization making an impact through sports is Good Sports. The team is making it easier for all kids to have the chance to play and be active. Now, my sights are set on the 2019 Boston Marathon. It is my honor to run 26.2 miles with the Good Sports team.
Thank you for reading my story and if you are inclined, supporting a great cause. Your donation will directly help Good Sports get more kids in the game.

Good Sports believes kids who play do better. They become more confident, make new friends, are more engaged in the classroom and decrease their risk of obesity and other health-related diseases. The problem? Increased pay-to-play costs and limited Physical Education budgets prevent kids in need from playing sports and being active. High equipment costs limit youth organizations’ ability to deliver the life-changing impact of sports and physical activity to the children they serve.
The good news is, there is a solution. Good Sports’ mission is to give all kids the lifelong benefits of sport and physical activity by providing new equipment, apparel and footwear to youth organizations in high-need areas, such as Boys & Girls Clubs, YMCAs, schools and more. Alleviating the cost of equipment enables organizations to lower fees and improve their programming. Good Sports began in 2003 with a donation of 500 basketballs to local Boston programs. The organization has since teamed up with additional equipment partners to deliver $34 million dollars’ worth of brand-new equipment to youth organizations in every state – giving over five million kids in need the chance to play!
Good Sports is thrilled to be an Official Charity of the 2019 Boston Marathon. Together, Good Sports and its 2019 Boston Marathon Team will give kids the chance to succeed on the court, on the field and in life.
Thank you for supporting our team and helping get more kids in the game!
