The American Cancer Society remains deeply committed to improving outcomes for childhood cancers. As of August 2019, ACS has more than $37 million invested in 68 cancer research grants that are specific to childhood cancer.
The #GoldTogether movement is a national Relay For Life program that specifically raises funds to support childhood cancer research, support services, and overall awareness of how childhood cancer impacts survivors and their families. To date, the program has raised over $500,000!
We are piloting a more individualized approach with this campaign- we are seeking 10-15 individuals, within our community, who will be focused on raising funds while competing with other participants. This distinguished group of community leaders is determined to raise awareness and money to support the American Cancer Society's mission and save more lives than ever before from childhood cancers.
WHY Childhood Cancer?
• Cancer is the leading disease-related cause of death for children and adolescents ages 1
to 19 in the U.S.
• 1 in 264 children and adolescents in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer
• Two thirds of the children treated for childhood cancer will suffer long–term effects from treatment
Please support us in our mission to fund childhood cancer research, support services, and awareness, as well as cancer prevention efforts targeting children!
