The Oak Bay, Esquimalt, Saanich and Victoria Fire Departments are doing a 24hr relay around the Oak Bay High School track in full firefighting turnout gear. One firefighter at a time will don all of their personal protective gear and start 'Going 'Round in Circles' to help raise money for local children and youth organizations affected by this pandemic. It has been said that the road to a level of normalcy is going to be anything but simple and along the way, there will be financial burden hovering over not just families, but the programs and organizations that support their children. We are extremely fortunate to have been given this opportunity to make a difference in countless lives by coming together as one cohesive group. With a unified goal set, we hope to go above and beyond what anyone of our annual fundraisers would achieve and truly make an impact for these non-profit organizations. By helping now, we will ensure that they will still be here when we can finally say we beat this difficult time. We have put our individual goals and gains aside so that we have force in numbers. With a strong showing from these four departments, we hope to show that we are always proud to be in our communities and we will always do the best we can to provide for the youth now and into the future.
Note* - All funds will be donated under the name the Professional Firefighters of Greater Victoria Community Foundation which collectively consists of Oak Bay, Esquimalt, Saanich and Victoria. No one department will receive more credit than the other.*
