Barefoot Republic, based in Nashville, TN, is a program that brings together young people of all racial, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
Over the last 20 years, we have served communities in Tennessee, Kentucky, California, and New Jersey. The smiling faces of our campers represent more than 15,000 familes and 500 different ethnicities. We have welcomed children of all financial backgrounds - those who can afford our minimal tuition and those who require assistance. In 20 years, we have provided more $3,500,000 in financial aid.
One way that Barefoot is able to offer such great financial assistance is through the revenue we earn in the off-season where we rent our Kentucky facility to outside groups (churches, schools, etc). Retreat revenue makes up for nearly 30% of our overall budget.
Due to Covid - 19, these outside groups are understandably having to cancel their retreats and events with us resulting in a significant loss of revenue putting summer in jeopardy for the 2000 campers we serve every year.
As the economy takes its toll on all of us, we anticipate the requests for financial assistance to increase and the loss of this significant revenue will inhibit our ability to serve more kids.
This fund has been set up to help Barefoot Republic recover some of the losses to help sustain the organization through this difficult time so that we can continue to offer life-changing programming.
Please consider a gift of any amount to help SAVE SUMMER for our youth!
