At Goats of Anarchy, we provide a safe, loving forever home to farmed animals in need — especially those with disabilities. We rescue and rehabilitate animals who are sick, injured, abused, and broken, and we give them a soft place to land. We care for over 230 animals of all different shapes, sizes, and species. As the name suggests, our focus is on goats, though we also care for sheep, alpacas, equines, pigs, birds, and more! We take in animals with all types of disabilities, including blindness, mobility impairment, and neurological disorders.
Rescuing animals with disabilities is very emotional and very rewarding. We work tirelessly to ensure that every animal under our care can thrive, even when the cards are stacked against them. The animals never give up, no matter what the circumstances, and we never give up on them. We've witnessed countless miracles here, and seeing the animals live their lives to the fullest is what keeps us going.
The reality of rescuing animals with disabilities is that it's not cheap. On top of the cost of basic needs like hay, grain and bedding, many of our residents require ongoing medical attention and specialized equipment such as wheelchairs and prostheses. Our work is expensive year-round, but in the winter months, the cost of basic supplies like hay and straw becomes more expensive.
We operate entirely on donations, and unfortunately, in the wake of the pandemic, donations have decreased. But no matter what is happening in the world, the animals need the same care day in and day out. We've created this fundraiser in an effort to ensure that our animals will have everything they need through the holiday season and beyond.
Our committment to the animals drives everything we do, and we invite you to join us in our mission to “fight like a goat" for the animals who need us most!
