On August 15, 2020, I will be running the annual Falmouth Road Race as a part of Team GDMF to support the 2020 scholarship candidates! This inaugural running of the prestigious Falmouth Road Race will be a bit different this year - it will be VIRTUAL!
Glen Doherty was a former Navy SEAL who sacrificed his life for others during a terror attack in Benghazi, Libya in 2012. I grew up in Glen's hometown of Winchester, MA, and my mother attended school in Winchester with Glen. I have witnessed the incredible impact he has had on everyone in our community and will be running in honor of Glen!
As a part of Team GDMF, I am raising money for the GDMF scholarship program. This program provides special operations professionals and their families with resources that aid in the transition to civilian life. Your dollars will go right to work in helping our Special Ops soldiers transition to new careers post-military. Our scholars are forever grateful for the support. Covid-19 has impacted so many and it is very difficult to ask for support during these times. But the reality is there are 14 returning scholars to support this fall. We also want to continue to award funding to new candidates. The Boston Marathon, one of Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation's key annual fundraisers has been canceled and the GDMF annual road race might go virtual as well. Last year the foundation received 38 applications for the Scholarship program but was only able to award 16 new scholarships in a good year. Anything you can give is much appreciated!
Thank you for donating to the Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation!
