Help us to save the lives of trans youth across the country
In this time of uncertainty, there is a fundamental truth that gives us hope – that together we can do extraordinary things. Over the past few weeks and months, the entire world has been coming together to stand up, help out, give back, and heal.
Mister Rogers has said “When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.” And we have seen so many of those helpers during this pandemic.
We at TFSS are committed to being helpers. We have been busy over the last many weeks serving youth and their families. Helping youth who find themselves in homes that are not accepting to guiding parents of trans youth that just came out to them. Encouraging youth without any family, supporting teachers who are trying to help their trans/nonbinary students remotely, and even assisting trans youth in filing unemployment claims. Moving all our services online and providing virtual support groups for youth, parents/caregivers weekly all over the country.
You may have already had the experience of our services and now we are asking that you join us and become a helper too!
#GivingTuesdayNow, May 5th, is a global day of giving to help nonprofits just like us to continue the important work during these difficult times. We have a goal to raise $10,000 to support our youth services. We understand these are tough times - any amount will helpor just share it with your friends and family.
